Hi, I’m Sarah. I achieved a First Class Honours degree in Applied Psychology from Durham University in 2011. Following this I have worked in NHS Talking Therapy Services as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for 3 years up in Newcastle, and then as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for the past 9 years. I am fully accredited as both a CBT Therapist and as a Clinical Supervisor by the BABCP. I feel passionate about both aspects of my role and my particular interest areas are working with birth trauma, post-natal depression, panic disorder, childhood abuse and other forms of trauma that have led to PTSD. Since becoming a mum myself in 2023 and knowing first hand what a life changing experience this is, I am even more keen to support mothers experiencing difficulties in these areas.
My approach in therapy is gentle, supportive and encouraging. I will guide you through the NICE recommended CBT treatment in a collaborative and flexible way and care deeply that your experience of CBT is both positive and useful so that you leave sessions with a psychological toolbox of knowledge and techniques to help in the future. As a Clinical Supervisor I am respectful of your ideas and experience and aim to help the therapists I supervise gain confidence and competence in the areas they wish to develop within.
As a working mum I have very little free time nowadays! Most of my free time is spent with our little boy, and when I have the opportunity I enjoy getting stuck into a series on Netflix, going for afternoon tea, gardening and walking our lovely little dog, Poppy.

Hi, I’m Paul. I have been working within mental health service for 18 years. After completing my BSc (Hons) in Clinical Psychology, I worked with the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in South Africa, supporting children who had been affected by trauma. In the UK I have worked in acute psychiatric inpatient wards, community mental health teams, and since 2009 I have been working within IAPT services across the country delivering low-intensity and high-intensity evidence-based interventions in the NHS. I also set-up an A-level in Psychology in my old school.
I am accredited in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am qualified in Virtual Reality Enhanced CBT (VR-CBT), Long-Term Health Conditions and Medically Unexplained Symptoms (LTC-MUS), Clinical Supervision, and more recently I have completed my certificate in CBT for Children and Adolescents. My particular interest areas are post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), breaking intergenerational cycles of traumas, children and young people (CYP), and working with other cultures.
In my spare time I like playing tennis, running, trekking up mountains, photography, watching movies, listening to audiobooks, walking the dog, and most of all spending time with my wife and son.
